PROJECT SCOPE

Bulk Earthworks, Site Remediation & Civil Construction

PROJECT SUMMARY

Australasian Construction was awarded the subcontract by Pike Construction for the completion of civil works at Tappa Road, Edinburgh for the PepsiCo warehouse. The scope of work for the project consists of bulk earthworks, concrete pavement (~13000m2) & car park (~2000m2) construction. Our specialized range of in-house machinery was used to meet the Client's needs for sub-grade and pavement layers to be filled and trimmed to design RLs to within +/-10 mm tolerance. All works were conducted under Level 1 Supervision and to the required engineering specifications.

CONSTRUCTION SUMMARY

    • Cut to fill of sub-grade to design RLs using site-won material, inclusive of removal of oversized and unsuitable material (with use of in-house specialized plant).

    • Place, compact and final trim of pavement rubble across the site to design RLs for the building pad (~16000m2), car park (~2000m2), and heavy-duty pavement (~13000m2).

    • Remediating soft spots as encountered and remediating uncontrolled fill on site.

•Edge thickening as per civil requirements and excavation for recessed docks and swales.

•Compaction of all layers achieved with the use of pad foot & smooth drum vibrating roller.

    • Trimming to appropriate levels to accommodate for asphalt, heavy-duty asphalt, concrete & building pad across the site.

    • Undertook sub-base, bitumen, kerb, gutter & line marking works to supply functional car parking facilities.
